There is seperate function called TRUNCATE for cutting off decimal places rather than rounding up.

Although we get the same answer using BETWEEN operator, it is not correct to use it since the start and end values are not included in the range.

SELECT TRUNCATE(SUM(lat_n), 4) FROM station
WHERE lat_n > 38.7880 AND lat_n < 137.2345;
