About

Join us on Saturday for competitive programming challenges designed to challenge everyone from first to fifth years (and beyond). Never done a CodeJam before? No worries! Representatives from Atlassian can help out with strategies, as well as provide some insight about what it's like to work at Atlassian.

More information is avaiable at our website. Join #codejam on the UQCS Slack to chat with other competitors and Atlassian representatives!

Note: You must be a university student to win prizes, but anyone is welcome to play for fun.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.
  • This is an individual competition.
  • Limit of one prize per person.
  • To be eligible for prizes, you must be a current university student.
  • You are considered a first-year if you have not completed CSSE2310, or any course at level 3 or higher with the course code COMP, COMS, COSC, CSSE, DECO or INFS (or any equivalent courses at another university). You also cannot have worked as a software developer or in a related internship, at the discretion of the committee.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
