Product Management Cross-functional Skills

PM Cross-functional skills are developed capacities that facilitate performance of activities that occur across jobs.

 

Key Competencies:

  1. Resource Management Skills - Planning, scheduling, allocating people, money, and effort to a project or program based on value to the organization.

  2. Planning and Process Management - Setting and communicating well-defined project goals, monitoring progress toward those goals, and communicating status inside and outside of the immediate work team.

  3. Managing Stakeholders - Setting realistic expectations and building relationships on a cross-functional team; systematically identifying key points of contact, understanding their needs, and resolving conflicts as needed.

  4. Performance Benchmarking and Analytics - Setting and evaluating key performance indicators and return on investment for a project or intervention.

  5. Technical Communication - Verbal and written communication used to make information about products, services, and processes clear and understandable. The ability to convey thoughts, designs, ideas, and specifications in a clear and concise manner.
