Drupal is a free and open-source web content management framework written in PHP and provides a robust back-end framework for websites. Drupal allows for handling various content types including video, text, blog, menu handling, real-time statistics, etc.
This competency area includes an understanding of Menu Management, Taxonomy, User Management, and Optimization, among others.
Key Competencies:
- Menu Management - Navigating through the Drupal admin page, various menus and regions, using the dashboard, restructuring content, modules, appearance and theme configuration.
- Taxonomy - Classifying website content based on specific taxonomy terms, using Drupal terms and vocabulary. Ability to add new taxonomies and configuring name, description, text format, URL alias, and so on.
- User Management - Navigating through the user permissions on Drupal, and knowledge of various permissions and user roles including Node, Overlay, Path, contextual links, and user roles such as anonymous, authenticated and administrators.
- Optimization - Knowledge of Page Caching, enabling cache blocks and cache pages for anonymous users, compressing CSS files, moving media files and static files to a CDN, theme optimization, and so on.
