System Design and Strategy Engineer
T-Mobile• June 2014 - December 2019
- Cross-functional collaborations with the Enterprise Data Solutions and Infrastructure teams as Network Domain expert and Data Scientist: › Power Usage Efficiency (PUE) analysis for statistical identification of source of improvements, pointing out to the new Data Center design (Magenta Box), proving a possible 1% of reduction with potential hundred thousand dollars on OPEX savings. - Data Analytics lead, continuously collaborating with the RAN Automation Team and Market Operations Groups to create effective visualizations with actionable business insights: › 5G Rollout dashboard with incremental and dynamic views for progress tracking, from material request to pre/post launch activities. › Multi-vendor (Ericsson + Nokia) Radio Faulty Classification report (4G + 5G) › West Region Power Reliability program report, with identification and tracking of battery usage and generators usage. - Collaboration scoping, scaling and defining End-to-End projects in the RAN domain. Creation and validation of procedures and the tools required for nationwide deployments, generating OPEX savings and improving network performance. - Collaboration in national automation initiatives as RAN Domain expert, supporting the tool development, defining protocols, assigning responsibilities (RACI) and validating/testing results. - Team Mentor and Coach, identifying market/regional opportunities and pain points, laying out training content and learning environments, defining the necessary strategies to follow for a successful knowledge integration.
Support Engineer
GENBAND• February 2013 - June 2014
- Introduced the Root Cause Analysis methodology for outage events, defining this as standard procedure across Latin America and North America business units. - Created the Gateway Controller (GWC) trace analyzer and Application Server (A2) trace decoder. Both widely used across the technical support group, decreasing the resolution time by 30% on cases related to call processing. - Collaborated with the Mexican pre-sales Business Unit demo preparation and design planning as a technical advisor, noticeably increasing the value of our business for potential end customers.
Project Lead Engineer
Ericsson• November 2012 - February 2013
- Supervised a group of engineers, creating the “Tiger Team” pilot group, serving as a Escalation Point of contact and RAN SME for the “T-Mobile Modernization Project”. The Multi-disciplinary team effectively identified product defects, configuration conflicts and design issues. The triage process created as a result of this cross-functional collaboration improved the success rate of the project by 15% saving ~2 min per site. - Introduced the quality of deliverables concept with reports, audits and network validations, increasing the Customer Satisfaction by 30% and improving the team response on issues presented during implementations by 10%
Support Engineer
Avaya• February 2012 - November 2012
- Introduced Continuous Improvement Processes based on Lean Six Sigma concepts and methodology. Based on the statistical analysis for ticket handling on “break & fix” events, - Participated on the design and QA of the kernel for the USB APC Bootable software module. The module proved to effectively improve the response time by ~70% on software corruption or equipment malfunction. - Acted as Critical Escalation Manager for Latin American Markets, defining the critical escalation protocols to follow on outage and emergency events in collaboration with Technical Account Managers and Market leaders of the Americas Region.
Service Engineer
Ericsson• March 2010 - February 2012
- Collaborated on the design and implementation of an immersive on-the-job training program for recent college graduates. The program successfully prepared over 85 engineers on the initial phase, increasing successfully the Engineering and Operations capacity in ~50%. - Participated on the knowledge transfer program between the North American Business Unit (NA BU) and the Ericsson Global Service Center (GSC) in Mexico. The program resulted on the creation of the RAN Integration pilot group, accelerating the cost reduction strategy defined by the US and Canada Markets, achieving the defined goals in ~6 months earlier than what was expected. - Validated Features, Procedures and Products in selected live network environments (FOA, SOA). Cross-functional collaboration between Product Units, Design Units, Operations and Business Units in order to properly design procedures, identify risk and describe benefits, constantly improving based on lessons learned and customer feedback. - Supervised the newly created RAN Network Integration Center (NIC) with ~40 engineers, collaboratively working with upper management teams and PM units on the different strategies for resource assignment and scheduling. Examples of a few successful projects: AT&T3G Rehomes, T-Mobile HS Activation, Rogers Canada Re-IP, T-Mobile CBU to DUW migration, etc…
Network Engineer
