I was part of AWS Redshift Admin team. Designed tables using proper encoding, sort keys and distribution style for higher performance and reduced space consumption. Maintained cluster stability up to 99% using scripts for load , performance and usage monitoring. Optimized the cluster and increased the performance by 50% by configuring the WLM. Automated the maintenance preparation work and reduced the time taken from 2-3 days to 5 mins. Script to add resume functionality to the copy command to transfer data from aws s3 to redshift. This helped to improve cluster performance and reduce time for loading on event of failure. Script to get tables that are eligible for vacuum and the space it will release.This helped in pinpointing tables that would give the maximum space if vacuumed and helped in reducing load on the cluster.
