Recommended by CAPES/MEC on 02/10/2004, the INF/UFG Graduate Program in Computer Science (PPGCC) was created in the same year, initially at the Master's level. The Program is designed to train highly qualified professionals for academic research and technological development in Computer Science. In the Triennial Evaluation carried out by CAPES in 2013, the Program's score was raised to 4, reflecting a consistent improvement in the training of masters and in scientific production. In 2018, the proposal to create the Doctoral level at PPGCC was approved by CAPES, replacing the Doctoral course maintained until then in association with UFMS. The first class of the new Doctorate started its activities in March 2019. The PPGCC aims to train highly qualified professionals to work in research, teaching and development of technologies in the area of Computing. The specific objectives of the Program include: To train qualified professionals to work in the generation of knowledge and information technology. To promote the improvement of the quality of Computer Science education, through the training of professors to work in higher education institutions. Promote the advancement of research and innovation developed at INF-UFG, consolidating research lines and encouraging collaboration between students, faculty and members of the scientific community. Contribute to the solution of regional problems that demand resources and computational solutions, promoting the development of innovations and exchanges with the productive sector. In 2021, after completing 17 years of existence, the program has already trained almost 300 masters in the most diverse areas of Computing. The first defence of a doctoral thesis in the Program took place in April of the same year. Graduates of the Program work in public and private higher education institutions in the country and abroad, as well as in the public sector and in national and international companies in the technology sector.
