Flatiron’s coding bootcamp is an intensive program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to become lifelong professional software engineers . The full-stack curriculum covers essential programming fundamentals such as HTML & CSS, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SQL, along with Python, JavaScript, and web frameworks like Flask and React. Students get the opportunity to construct comprehensive portfolios showcasing their technical prowess and creativity, while also deeply engaging with the tech community. I developed the following projects during my time as a Full Stack Software Engineering Flatiron student: Recipe Rolodex: RecipeRolodex is the place for creating, sharing, and collecting recipes. Developed a React JS frontend employing Bootstrap and custom CSS for design, and Python for the backend. Utilized SQLite3 to persist data during development, and PostgreSQL once deployed via Render. Implemented OCR (Tesseract) to give the user the ability to upload pictures and pull the text off. Service Squad: Service Squad provides a convenient platform for volunteers to discover community engagement opportunities. Created client-side routing using React router and RESTful routing. Delivered full CRUD to the user through sign up and management of their profile. Implemented bcrypt for authorization and authentication of users. Cupcake Shop: A simple and reusable template for a fictional local store’s website. Tracked the user’s cart using local storage. Implemented React-Bootstrap to style the navbar and wrote custom CSS for various other components. Wrote event listeners for the review form and various buttons.
