We developed visual odometry techniques for aerial navigation using C++ and Python. These techniques estimate the position of aircraft through visual data from onboard cameras, tracking key features across consecutive frames. We enhanced accuracy by integrating sensor data such as gyroscopes and accelerometers. The algorithms were optimized using C++ for efficient calculations and Python for higher-level tasks and data analysis. We validated the system in simulated environments and real flights, incorporating calibration procedures for precision. Our skills in computer vision, algorithms, and programming were refined, showcasing our proficiency in C++ and Python for aerospace applications.
