Developed demand forecasting models for hotel occupancy across multiple chains, each with hundreds of properties, which resulted in precise occupancy predictions and uncertainty estimations on predictions. Optimized the models using meta-learning task optimization, enabling accurate predictions for hotels with limited historical data. Implemented a semi-supervised mode for special event detection to improve the demand forecasting.

Data Science Research Intern

Completed data preprocessing for a large dataset of tens of thousands of records by utilizing SQL/Python and executing tasks such as correcting errors, standardizing data formats, and interpolating missing data. Achieved high accuracy in labor progression prediction and decision-making during labor by implementing deep Gaussian process models with the Python, TensorFlow, and GPFlow libraries on Azure ML. Achieved a 10x reduction in training and testing duration using optimization algorithms, including sparse approximation methods.
