(40 hrs/week from May 2019 – Aug 2019 | 10 hrs/week from Sept 2019 – May 2020) Researched Doxorubicin-induced cardiac injury and mechanisms through which hemostasis and thrombosis play a role in health and disease. Developed and executed numerous experiments according to hypotheses and performed data analysis on results, often presenting data to lab members. Operated sophisticated laboratory equipment (such as microscopes, cell counters, CAT and aPTT machines), used automated equipment and computerized instruments, performed complex assay tests on cell samples, and trained incoming technicians. Conducted an independent study on C1-Esterase Inhibitor; final product was a research paper. Made any needed standard solution, synthesized agar, and operated various machinery. Seeded agar filled petri dishes with bacteria to feed microscopic worms. Worked with autoclave to sterilize solutions, waste, pipettes, and other instruments. Washed chemical glassware, bleaches boxes, and ordered necessary items/chemicals from stock room. Performed various other general lab assistant duties.
