In my current role as a backend engineer at Getir, I am responsible for maintaining and developing micro services which function to list the products and categories to the end user. I have thrived in Getir’s fast-paced environment, effectively supporting and driving its growth into 9 different countries, across 3 regions. Further responsibilities and achievements of mine include: ● Building & maintaining RESTful back-end services in Node.js - a platform with high throughput across both mobile and web applications ● Supporting production incidents and outages as an on-call contact ● Taking responsibility and supporting in deployment processes ● Successfully integrating third-party tools into our working system ● Onboarding, supporting and training new team members at both a junior and senior level ● Presenting knowledge sharing sessions to the wider team ● Proactively participating in technical refinement sessions in system designs ● Refactoring listing service endpoints, which consequently decreased average response time by 250ms to 20ms ● Migrating legacy monolith service to micro-services ● Implementing unit and integration tests in Jest ● Maintaining & developing product metadata backend service in order to handle CRUD operations for the internal tools. ● Gaining proficiency in Node.js, MongoDB, AWS Lambda Functions, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, ElasticCache, Atlas Search, NewRelic and Sentry
