Engineered an underwater image restoration system, enhancing image clarity by 80-90% using Python and OpenCV. Processed 900 underwater images, applying the Dark Channel Prior Method to remove haze effectively. Implemented histogram equalisation, boosting colour accuracy and visual quality by up to 30%. Collaborated with 2 researchers and 2 internship partners, acquiring hands-on experience in image processing, and data analysis. Optimized workflows and image restoration techniques, achieving a 20% reduction in processing time.
