As an API web developer, I created/updated the pipeline of endpoints that exchange data with the PostgreSQL database. This includes implementing the Swagger JSON interface as it provides documentation on what the front end developers can expect, using Java to create the controllers, services, models, DTOs, DAOs, and updating the database evolutions to add new tables/fields. I also updated our existing JUnit/Guice tests to use Mockito to improve code coverage and reduce the dependency of integration tests. Additionally used Swagger and Postman to test endpoints. In addition, as the first engineer hired to be onsite at headquarters, I took the opportunity to help onboard new hires and aid in implementing the process of seamlessly ramping them up on our dev environment.

As a full-time engineer, I used C++ on the firmware level of our platform which included System/Computer Architecture, Operating System, and Performance/Optimizing principles. In addition, I worked on side projects that included interfacing with a SOAP-based web services using C#, using PostgreSQL and CKAN to build an open data portal, and creating an Android app to catalog craft beers using Google Cloud Vision API. I also learned more about data analytics, specifically swarm intelligence with IOT devices. As a New Hire Coordinator, I managed a budget to host a facility-wide welcome event for new hires as well as smaller events and opportunities to foster the community. I was also involved with cultivating a culture of change by leading initiatives including workspace reformation, team agility, and encouraging a mindset of innovation.
