Software Engineer
Pivotal Software•  May 2019 - August 2019
Increased competitiveness of Greenplum Database (GPDB, for OLAP tasks) by building APIs for the Platform Extension Framework (PXF) using Java and Apache Tomcat - to parse and optimize query clauses, and to enable GPDB users to access external data sources such as AWS S3 efficiently. Utilized and implemented support for JDBC connection pool to ensure high efficiency and memory safety of PXF servers when processing queries in parallel. Built CLI tool with Go, wrote unit tests and integration tests for PXF with Java, Python, SQL, Shell script, Tinc, Mockito, and Concourse (for integration pipelines) to ensure code quality. Contributed to open source projects (Greenplum Database and PXF https://github.com/greenplum-db/pxf) and increased team's impact by giving technical showcases and publishing an engineering blog (http://engineering.pivotal.io/post/s3select/).
