Software Engineer

JP Morgan Chase & Co•  June 2016 - July 2017

I've been part of the Derivatives & FX team within the Corporate & Investment Banking division. During my time there I have: * Written a 3D data visualization project from scratch using C++14, OpenGL and the VTK library. The project helped establish the diagnostic of bottlenecks within the internal systems as well as present a simplified visual tool for the flow of data through JPMorgan's proprietary US cloud-based service Gaia. * Developed internal automation tools using Python, PowerShell and Bash scripts used to perform automated testing, deployment and repository clean-ups as well as some general maintenance. The tools were used extensively by two critical teams from our department and were regarded as huge time-savers by both. * Learned about, wrote and refactored various microservices (making use of dependency injection) within the Gaia cloud system owned by JPMorgan - the code was written in Java using the Spring Framework. * Worked with Maven, MQTT, Cucumber, Splunk, Jenkins, as well as Atlassian's Jira and Confluence. * Helped my team start the migration of some of our microservices from Gaia to the AWS servers. * Signed an NDA regarding other sensitive projects handled (therefore I cannot mention them).

DevOps Engineer

Worked as Software & DevOps Engineer for the local start-up my2be Ltd. During this time I have: * Designed, planned and built the project from scratch together with another developer. * Written part of the back-end code for the RESTful API project as well as unit tests. * Written most of the front-end code for the UI/UX in Razor. * Greatly improved my C#, ASP.NET MVC and Javascript skills through the course of the development. * Learned more about the Microsoft Azure suite as well as the Azure DevOps services. * Worked in an Agile development environment - using Atlassian's Trello (Kanban board) and doing pair programming regularly. * Optimized and refactored parts of the API and UI to exhaustion over the course of the last few months. * Improved my team working skills and time management.
