Work Experience

  • Software Engineer

    Starbucks•  June 2020 - Present

Configured and managed Azure Databricks Spark clusters. Developed efficient Azure Databricks jobs using PySpark to filter and fill millions of records in a Cassandra database. Designed a workflow to validate new customer Emails in real-time using Kafka streaming and deployed it into production. Built components and functional tests to ensure code functionality and product stability.

  • Software Engineer

    VMware•  July 2017 - August 2019

I primarily worked as a backend java developer, where I designed and developed REST APIs. During which, I modeled workflows and built Proof of Concepts in a fast-paced agile environment, my key responsibilities included implementing features, fixing product-related defects and mentoring new college graduates and summer interns. Periodically, I led customer support issues and hotfix releases. I also automated and optimized the project’s local build pipeline using DevOps tools such as Docker Compose and Kubernetes. Specifically, I worked on 2 projects, 1. Cloud Provider Hub : SaaS service to enable VMware cloud partners purchase and provision VMware products. Designed and developed Java RESTful APIs in a containerized micro-services architecture, using appropriate design patterns, to build modular and scalable code deployed on AWS. Automated and developed a stable local code deployment cycle using DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Compose and in-turn streamlined the collaborative software development process. Implemented a framework to periodically analyze, visualize and generate reports to gain a granular insight into the products revenue by building interactive dashboards using Mode Analytics, SQL, and Python. 2. v Cloud Extender : Web application to assist migration of Virtual Machines from a private datacenter to a public cloud. Built key features and workflows to support variants of VM migration, by developing solutions, via consuming public APIs exposed by VMware products such as vSphere, NSX, and VCD. Single-handedly developed an application to monitor and throttle VM traffic at kernel level using Linux Traffic Shaping. Performed Integration and Unit tests to ensure code stability using Frameworks like JUnit, Mockito.
