Consultant: Senior Data Architect and Developer
Mitsubishi Securities USA• November 2016 - January 2020
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, my recent projects included a variety of database design and development work including both transactional and data warehouse projects across a variety of platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, Access, Excel spreadsheets and various flat (text) files. Use of database design tools such as ERWin, TOAD, SQL Server Management Studio, Red Gate software, SQL Plus, others. Currently finishing work on an Intraday Liquidity data warehousing application which will provide various federal agencies with required daily/hourly liquidity status for all cash and collateral trades and lending. The project entailed the import and ETL of Bank of NY Excel spreadsheets detailing transaction histories. Work also included performing data analysis on processes such as cash-on-hand, intraday liquidity, running debit and credit balances, and more. These required the development of sophisticated, complex stored procedures around various data tables designed and developed by me Other data sources that needed to be integrated including SWIFT MT950 statement messages, federal funds rates and a variety of in-house account, securities and related data tables. During the design and development phase, I made use of both MS Transact SQL as well as Oracle PL/SQL, with extensive use of SQL Server Data Tools for ETL (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). Another project entailed the architecture, design and development of a new automated database systems for the Federal Reserve’s Micro Data Reference Manual (MDRM) financial reporting forms. This system, created in both Oracle PL/SQL and SQL Server, with Business Objects front end reports, entailed the capture, summarization and data checking of hundreds of reportable data points required for foreign banks. Transactional systems for creating and maintaining the data checking rules were developed with C# front ends applications (Winforms) and SQL Server database back-end. This automated process has saved many hours of validation and rerunning efforts. A third project was for a new derivatives processing system written in Transact-SQL for equities, foreign exchange, extended settlement and futures and options from various sources including daily trading and Murex feeds. The new unified trade processing and classifications enhanced downstream reporting. Other work included creation and reviewing Business and Functional Requirements Documents, creation of Technical Specification Documents, conducting project status meetings, as well as design and development in the financial data warehouse using C# .NET. Limited familiarity with Python development.

Working as a consultant to CAPAX Global, I was engaged as a senior developer on a project to migrate retail legacy and data from IBM AS400 systems into Microsoft Azure SQL Server and SQL Data Warehouse. Migration work included data for retail sales and forecasts using various techniques including SQL Server Data Tools ( SSIS) as well as Azure Data Factory ETL tool. Other responsibilities included design and creation of SQL database object (tables, views and stored procedures) and documentation. Unfortunately, due to the client’s schedule for parallel work, the project was terminated after two months.
