● Developed a general model for the static production network design problem that assumes a functional layout structure at each facility and develops models for both static and time-dependent cases. ● Performed quantitative analysis on the benefits of the integrated production network model using GAMS. ● Improved the machine layout problem (MLP) by experimenting with variable bounding and developed a tighter bound. ● Executed statistical tests on two different formulations for the MLP and concluded that the bounding scheme does not significantly reduce time to solve MLP.
