Researching Sea Ice Ecology, Fractal Landscapes, and Polar Bear Movement Patterns Use of MATLAB and Java to code optimal path models Built an optimized path for polar bears based off of landscape-based energy expenditure. Using Dijkstra’s algorithm, we analyze matrices with each space having an n probability of being either ice or water. The goal of the algorithm is to avoid as much water as possible, because polar bears expend 5x more energy in water than on ice.

Tutored high school students in Algebra and Pre-Calculus to help build a foundation for critical and analytical thinking. Utilizing student centered discussions and presenting material in formats that are inclusive to all learning styles. Helped students obtain higher grades over the course of 3 months.
