I do research with masters students, undergraduate students in machine learning, networking and security. I train different professionals in programming, data base design and implementation and data analysis.

Senior Software Engineer

I was working on a project as part-timer senior software developer under the contracted project between AAiT and Samsung. I, with other colleague of mine, were tasked to develop a system for Carbon Saver from the hospitality industry throughout the world. Samsung South Africa branch was responsible for the project monitoring the development. We used Java as a backend to develop the web application and MySQL as a database system. I was tasked to develop the web application and the backend including the web services API for the system as well as I was the leader of the product development project. My colleague was assigned to work on the client mobile application development task.

Assistant Lecturer

I deliver undergraduate courses during my time as assistant lecturer on introduction to programming and delivered short-term MATLAB programming trainings. I worked as a software tester for Point of Sale (POS) testing and accreditation program under the contract between Addis Ababa University and Federal Revenue Ministry of Ethiopia. I worked as a hardware tester for cash register machines and POS printer terminals under the program of testing and accreditation under the contract between Addis Ababa University and Federal Revenue Ministry of Ethiopia.

Software Engineer

Information Networks Security Administration (INSA)•  November 2008 - November 2009

I worked as software engineer in INSA under the project of Oromia regional state BPR automation project and Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS). 1. For HRMS of the federal defense force of Ethiopia, I have gotten involved in database systems design and implementation up to fully taking the backend of the system. 2. In Oromia regional state BPR automation, I have worked on Oromia Police Security and Crimal Cases Management Systems. I was tasked on automate the Criminal Case Management System and I have successfully addressed all the functionalities of the system as per the specifications and provided a test manual before I quit INSA. The system was in testing phase when I quit the organization. I have also worked as backend developer in Oromia Land Management System and I was tasked to design and implement the database systems, programming providing the generic data access functionalities, writing stored database procedures and functions using PL/SQL and assisting those who work on front-end developments. We used Java for all projects as the development programming language (Java Server Faces and Servlets for front end) and Java for the back-end. We used Oracle 10g and MySQL for database systems.
