I am part of the team developing a drug discovery high performance computing application used by pharmaceutical companies (written in C++). I am responsible on the software side of the continuous integration infrastructure on CINECA GitLab instance.

I was part of a team with many years of experience in developing control software for instrumentation. I designed and developed the entire control software (in C++ / Python) for SHARK-NIR, a multi-million Euros extra-solar planet observation instrument for the Large Binocular Telescope in Arizona. I developed a device back end for SOXS instrument mounted at the New Technology Telescope, the device server interfaces to a controller connected via serial port to a Beckhoff Embedded PC.

I developed a data driven tool for classification of exploded stars’ light curves (time series measures), exploiting data driven machine learning techniques for regression and clustering. The tool was written in a combination of Python and R, and had to solve a multiclass problem using Gaussian processes for regression, diffusion maps for dimensionality reduction and random forest to build the classification model. The data set size comprised 80,000 light curves.
