During a two-week long internship in CERN Laboratory I worked in the Computer Department. With a partner and a mentor we had data mining project where we had to analyse the sharing structure at the laboratory between departments, sections and groups of scientists. We worked using Swan (CERN's Jupyter Notebook) and Python to obtain results form data. Firstly we got data form two different databases: LDAP and SQLite, which we had to export and merge. To keep privacy of employees we got hashed tables of users and to get rid of the human error, we got different hashes, so each one of us worked on different set of hashed names, but overall we obtain the same results. One of the very first stages was pre-processing, where we had to clean unnecessary data and damaged rows. Then during one of the next stage - transformation - we group data and make it visible on various graphs and scatter plots. To do it we used SWAN's root library.
