Backend Engineer for Credential Adapter, a Rest Interface between a Monolith and new microservices ¬ Created a custom Gradle plugin to scan common graqhQL schema to generate specific service schema. This reduced the number of types autogenerated by Netflix’s DGS Codegen from over 10,000 to less than 600. ¬ Implemented throttling mechanism at API Gateway level to mitigate throttling at the dynamo DB level and hot partitions. A threshold of 100 TPS was fine-tuned after comprehensive perf testing. ¬ Refactored the module to use a single bean instance of Apache Http for different upstream client requests instead of multiple OkHttpClients, each for a single client. This was to improve performance, maintenance, and vertical scaling. ¬ Worked on perf tests for both 1x and 2x TPS numbers to ensure autoscaling for holiday and peak readiness. ¬ Worked on initiatives of password parity, confirmation channels, and MailChimp implementing key functionalities as per the expected flows. ¬ Created AuthN functional and integration tests with Karate framework for some flows with requests from the clients, through adapter, to/and from the monoliths. Backend Engineer, maintaining and improving the Walmart eCommerce site for Extensive Customer Experience. ¬ Transitioned from contractor to fulltime beginning April 2020, was initially under Drishticon Inc. ¬ Implemented several spark jobs for data cleanup and analytics report generation against apache solr queries. ¬ Migrated Kafka topics and consumers from one cluster to another ensuring no downtime for minimum or no lag. ¬ Engineered initiatives Inventory exceptions, an initiative impacting hundreds of supply items in the supply chain. ¬ At the core of implementing White Glove Delivery (WGD) feature for additional premium services on freight items totaling to approximately 100K. The core of all the downstream consumers. ¬ Built and externalized via API proxy a new RESTFUL API being used by Licensed external partners (also called 3PL) to download item data. Tasks included, SRCR approval, building the API, registering the API in service registry, and exposing the API to outside Walmart network via API Proxy/Gateway. ¬ Built a new RESTful API for bulk updates of transport fields such as item weight, height, width, and length. The API is used to update over 2000 items per day by business at a click. ¬ Like the above, I built another RESTful API for bulk updates of WERCS attributes. Tasks included managing async and non-asnyc responses in one of the products in the supply chain. ¬ Performed email integration to send automatic email alerts to respective teams in case of change of pre-configured rules to determine eligibilities of items. ¬ Created and integrated with code, Medusa Dashboards, to track and monitor system performance in terms of throughput, response times, CPU steal, and exceptions. Specifically monitored 99th, 95th, and 90th percentiles for an SLA not more than 400ms for response times. ¬ Built a custom JSON serializer to ensure predetermined custom serialization of an object to reduce the size of the JSON before persistence into the database. ¬ Built a scheduling high-volume pipeline for product updates. The pipeline has a Kafka consumer that listens to over 800K product updates per day, filters out the required updates, and reschedules them for re-computation of eligibilities of offers. Chosen to participate in rigorous training in C# and SQL. ¬ Full stack Developer of a legacy “you.trace.it” suite from vb6 to C# for food manufacturing factories. ¬ Stepped in to serve lead role in absence of Lead administrator & developer. ¬ Developed a Barcode scanner solution for a Tracewise client, “LillyFoods”. The solution scans “purchase units” at Reception stage and Pallets at expedition stage.
