Statistical Geneticist, first as a summer intern and then full-time. Built an automated, documented, and computationally efficient pipeline for cleaning and analyzing hundreds of gigabytes of genetic data. This pipeline was used to search for genetic contributors to two medical conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, and progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. - Designed and wrote code that handled all aspects of the analysis, from data cleaning to running machine learning algorithms - Presented findings quarterly at department meetings - Wrote up our team's findings for publication in Human Genetics - Tools: R, Bash, Perl, 30-node Beowulf cluster, Powerpoint/Outlook/Word - Algorithms: Logistic regression, PCA, random forests
