•Created a guided tour modal, using React and Shepherd.js, to enable users to have seamless onboarding, enhance user engagement and accelerate product adoption via step-by-step instruction •Implemented migration from a bulky utility library to the lightweight and modular date-fns in backend files, effectively overcoming size challenges and significantly improving performance and maintainability of the codebase •Adapted backend files from a query approach to a models approach, in order to counter the SQL injection attacks and lack of user-input validation that are inherent to a query approach •Revamped the backend architecture by transitioning from a query-based approach to a model-based approach, simplifying routine data access operations, ensuring code consistency, and promoting efficient collaboration between team members •Increased unit test coverage by designing and implementing extensive unit and integration tests for controllers using Cypress and Jest, ensuring the accuracy of essential functionalities and improving the reliability and stability of production code for future developers •Utilized Docker CLI to standardize project-wide formatting and linting configurations, containerize the application, and perform preflight checks before deployment, resulting in streamlined development workflows and enhanced collaboration among team members •Conducted comprehensive technical interviews to evaluate potential resident’s technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills, ensuring the quality of Codesmith residents and the engineering community •Facilitated the professional development of junior developers by providing one-on-one code reviews, leading design discussions, delivering lectures on core concepts, and collaborating on engineering tasks through driver-navigator pair programming, resulting in the establishment of best practices, the promotion of personal growth, and the overall strengthening of the team
