Avoca Risk Underwriting Solutions is a subsidiary of Avoca Insurance Holdings(AIH). Responsibilities include the design and development of software for each of Avoca Insurance Holdings' underwriting companies. Hired initially as an intern to work closely with underwriters in the insurance arena on special projects related to automated reporting, policy development, software design, coding, and debugging. I was promoted to full-time Software Developer within three months. As a Software developer, I am responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing our multiple underwriting systems. Enhanced property inspection processes by implementing an inspection ordering and workflow solution into our system. Built an automated solution to daily and monthly Catastrophe Modeling processes. Supplemented system location data with 3rd party hazard information. Worked closely with underwriting teams to troubleshoot and develop robust solutions to issues that arose.
