Education

  • University of Perugia

    Physics, PhD•  November 2018 - Present

My research activities focused on studying protein dynamics in different molecular environments, and the characterization of the dynamical state of the bacterial proteome at different temperatures. I combined coarse-grained simulations (Lattice Boltzmann Molecular Dynamics) with all-atoms Molecular Dynamics, to recreate - with a novel mesoscale approach - a representative portion of the E. coli proteome. The results of the simulations were compared to those of real experiments performed at the Institut Laue-Langevin (mainly neutron scattering experiments), and the data analysis was carried out in Python (packages: numpy, lmfit, scipy, mdanalysis, matplotlib, cffi, os, subprocess, selenium, pandas), and C++ (libraries: eigen, omp, fftw3, cmath). The simulations were carried out with the most powerful supercomputer in France, the TGCC Joliot-Curie CEA HPC (25 million CPU hours). The PhD was granted by the scholarship: Bando VINCI 2018, Università Italo-Francese (UIF/UFI). The thesis has been accepted, and the defense will take place in mid-July.

  • University Grenoble Alpes
