Work Experience
3D Deep learning intern
SAMP• March 2020 - September 2020
Samp is a deep tech startup that helps large industrial facilities successfully go through constant modernization required to meet the fundamental challenges of safety and sustainability. At Samp, we believe that our ability as a society to collectively transition to a sustainable world first and foremost depends upon how we will manage our large industrial facilities. We provide software solutions that capture and exposes a reliable 3D model of the facilities to all players, a “Digital Twin”. For my internship project at SAMP, it was about testing multiple 3D deep learning state of the art methods for semantic & instance segmentation on 3D Point cloud data. The methods that have been tested in detail for semantic segmentation are MinkowskiNets and KPConv, and JSIS3D for instance segmentation.
Intern
European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN)• June 2019 - August 2019
I spent 8 weeks as a CERN Summer Student where the project was to develop a new python-based probing app for SLS (Service Level Status) which is a dashboard for services’ and meta-services’ availability and status in EOS (CERN disk storage).
Research Intern
Ecole nationale Supérieure d'Informatique (ESI)• September 2018 - June 2019
For my graduation project, I developed a metaheuristic called QBSO-FS, based on reinforcement learning’s Q-learning algorithm. A published paper (https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007%2F978-3-030-20518-8_65) at 2019’s International Work-Conference on Artificial Neural Networks (IWANN)
Intern
ELCS Research• July 2015 - July 2018
ELCS Research is a startup founded in 2014, which designs, develops and markets technologically advanced software platforms and solutions. I worked at the startup for 3 years and had 2 summer internships there, learned Django, Android dev & Vuforia.
Education
Université René Descartes (Paris V)
Computer Vision, MS• September 2019 - Present
One of the goals of this track is to prepare certain students to write a thesis related to a topic studied in the LIPADE Laboratory and to offer all students career opportunities in a variety of fields. After completing the program, students can work as engineers/designers, project managers, and R&D engineers.
Paris-Saclay University
Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, MS• September 2020 - Present
The objective of this curriculum is to enable students to master the concepts, the models, and the techniques required to design and develop mobile autonomous systems (land and aerial vehicles, robots, etc.). The curriculum covers the entire "perception, decision, action" cycle including the "communication" and "interface" aspects between the control center and the operating part. The curriculum has two main characteristics: the first involves "control" and is for engineers with strong skills in advanced automatic systems. The second involves "perception" and deals with using and combining multi-sensorial information from various embedded sensors. The training is backed by the IBISC laboratory, which is associated with the UFR of the Science and Technologies of the UEVE. The teaching staff does research on aerial or land transportation issues, on aeronautic or spatial robotics, in the following disciplines: modeling and simulation, automatic, signal and image processing, embedded IT.
École nationale supérieure d'informatique
Computer Science & Engineering, M.Tech• September 2014 - July 2019
École nationale Supérieure d'Informatique, Algiers is one of the two computer engineering schools in Algeria, and the elder one (since 1969). The cycle of studies is through five years and is divided into three periods : 2 years of integrated preparatory classes, 1 year of commun computer science, then 2 years of specialization and in my case it was about computer systems (Systèmes Informatique ,SIQ).
