Work Experience
Mechanical Engineering Associate
Stress Engineering Services• February 2021 - Present
• Performed failure analysis of plastics, polymers, seals, medical devices, consumer packaging, and molded components. • Designed experiments to obtain data to validate simulation model following V&V and ASTM standards. • Developed material models based on test data of 15+ elastic-plastic and elastomeric materials at various strain rates. • Conducted material tests (ASTM standards) and microscopic measurements for dimensions and fracture analysis.
Graduate Research Assistant
Purdue University• August 2016 - January 2021
• Developed 4 non-linear viscoelastic and plastic fracture models in C++ within FE framework MOOSE. • Analyzed failure in heterogeneous microstructures under strain rates > 10,000 s-1 using phase field models. • Improved safety in handling polymer bonded explosives by recommending substitute materials. • Contributed anisotropic cleavage-fracture model code to MOOSE framework (used on HPCs in 25+ countries). • Publications: 2 peer-reviewed journal papers (1st author), 3 conference presentations, 4 conference posters.
