As a senior engineer, I began my career by working on the reporting and compliance module of Powerschool's Student Information System, where I built and maintained customized webpages for data entry and developed database objects to generate various reports. Subsequently, I transitioned to a role as a data engineer for Intersect, focusing on building big data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data into a warehouse. In this position, I also automated repetitive tasks during development and code review processes. Currently, I am leveraging these experiences as a senior data engineer for Naviance, where I am responsible for creating data transformation models following the extract and load (ELT) process and building scalable cloud-native applications to generate reports from the transformed data residing in datamarts.

I started as a database developer, creating functions to facilitate report generation using dynamic queries. Later, I transitioned into an ETL developer, building and maintaining data warehouse pipelines. I was involved in proof-of-concept work for data acquisition using foreign tables and writing a custom CI script. I was also responsible for deployments in production and non-production environments, as well as monitoring these environments. Additionally, I worked on performance optimizations for some long-running queries.

As a database developer on the internal product development team, I was responsible for building database objects to meet product requirements. My role included creating custom reports for users and writing queries to fix data issues. I took charge of migrating the database for an open-source adoption initiative and served as the data lead during the setup of a centralized management reporting portal, ensuring seamless data integration, building ETL pipelines, and providing the data required for reports.
