Team Leader for AI-based Road Hazard Detection Project uOttawa | Valeo Egypt Partnership [Jul 2023 - Jan 2024] During my Master's program, I led a project with Valeo to improve road safety by detecting hazards like snow and ice. Key achievements include initiating the project, shifting the focus to open-source data, directing the development of an ML pipeline, exploring advanced CNN architectures, orchestrating the development of a hazard classification system, fostering a collaborative environment, and creating a user-friendly hazard detection application. Skills Developed: Developed advanced mastery in computer vision and image processing, proficiency in Python programming for the project's algorithmic backbone, and deepened knowledge of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and their practical applications. Also demonstrated leadership, effective communication with stakeholders, and milestone achievement; honed collaborative abilities, leading diverse teams to overcome challenges and foster cohesive problem-solving environments. This journey has been transformative, refining technical expertise and providing valuable opportunities for leadership, communication, and collaboration within a diverse team, resulting in invaluable skills for steering impactful projects.
