Responsible for 24x7 monitoring, maintenance and incident handling for +1000 servers. I have been promoted from Backup Engineer, to Lead SysAdmin to the current position. Responsibilities and projects: • Manage international team and provide world class customer experience. The work includes scheduling, priorities, set priorities, decisions about new technologies, coaching. Solve critical issues in a customer facing technical lead position. • Escalations Engineer for technologies and systems like: - Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Rackspace, Alibaba cloud, etc. - Databases administration and optimization, MySQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch, MongoDB. - Automation with Ansible, Python, Bash, Vagrant, Jenkins and integration of systems. - Nginx, Haproxy, Tomcat. - Monitoring like ELK and Zabbix. • A typical escalation to me is one that has been analyzed by 3 levels of support. E.g.: - Complex DB replication problems - Deep troubleshooting into different http stacks. - DDos attacks mitigation. • Procedure management. Development of internal knowledge base. E.g. research, document and decide or help decide about a new platform to be used or deprecated. • Continuous delivery planning, code deployment, approval and hands on development. • Technical work supervision (+10 members) and engineering QA. • Create and deliver training, mentoring, hiring, technical appraisals, as well as customer and server care technical lead. • Work on custom projects for the company, for instance, automated troubleshooting. This ongoing project includes Zabbix API works, ELK, Ansible, and other internal systems. Using Python and PHP as development languages.
