+Built, maintained, and upgraded an automated software pipeline that consumed all continuing care health information in the province from diverse enterprise data sources and generated analytic products in Tableau Server; initially in PowerShell, C#, and SQL, then migrated to Alteryx. +Wrote a dozen guides to statistical methodologies for Tableau, including an internationally recognized implementation of Kaplan-Meier Product Limit Estimators. +Established the adoption of research statistical techniques to the analysis of administrative and enterprise data, including: +The application of survival analysis to create a nationally recognized system to monitor the use of antipsychotics in long term care. +The application of mosaic plots Calgary hospice patient surveys data, as a demonstration project. +The application of hazard rates to age dependent utilization, inspiring their use in the monitoring of stroke recovery programs. +The application of Little’s Law and Poisson Regression to elucidate the impact of administrative changes by finding statistical outliers in event rates. +Established the adoption of source code control; using Subversion SVN for proprietary projects, and GitHub for publicly disclosed projects. +Mapped provincial continuing care business and administrative practices, most notably delineating the regional, temporal, and organizational heterogeneity in home care and supportive living activity reporting. +Developed novel methodologies for longitudinal analysis; including temporal refinement joins, clerical equivocation interferometry of reflective records, consistent standard errors of rate estimators, and finite state machines for epidemiological case finding. +Synthesized a decade of experience to create the Hazard Rate Zoo: a comprehensive characterization of the entire healthcare economy, of a single geopolitical jurisdiction, in a few dozen high resolution age, sex, and fiscal year dependent hazard rates, aggregated from the longitudinal transaction records of 3 billion healthcare utilization events, stored in a couple dozen administrative and enterprise data sources, spanning more than two decades, and covering more than six million people. +Member of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s External Modelling Expert Group for COVID-19 and the Can-COVID Slack community.
