• Qualified watch stations including: phone talker, control point, throttle man, feed control, switch-gear operator, propulsion (roving) electrician, shutdown reactor operator, and load dispatcher. • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing: generators, switchboards, transformers, controllers, motors, fuse panels, and lighting systems. • Wrote, evaluated, and executed equipment tag-outs. • Administered the electrical safety program for portable electrical tools. Load Dispatcher • Coordinated all electrical watch stations as the lead electrical operator of an Aircraft Carrier. • Possessed intricate knowledge of the ships electrical system; could produce from memory a one line including important loads off every load center. • Operated electrical switchboards including switching operations for generator and switchboard maintenance, synchronizing power sources manually using a synchroscope, and transferring manual and automatic bus transfer devices. • Participated in training drills such as: grounded equipment, blackouts, steam or feed line ruptures, flooding, fires, and loss of generators, buses, nuclear reactors, and switchboards. • Upon loss of equipment, evaluated system status. Then, advised the lead operational engineer on the most reliable electric plant configuration.
