During the 3rd year of my 4 year Computer Science course at TUD, I applied for work placement at the Department for Employment Affairs and Social Protection. I worked alongside another intern on the Performance Testing team and also spent much of my time here on the Release management team. My main role on the REM team was working on their PowerShell modules but on this team I also honed my bash scripting skills and became very familiar with Jenkins. My time spent on the performance testing team, where I learned how to create web tests in C# and eventually run load tests on test environments. There were also other projects I worked on while on this internship: One project I took part in with another intern was a piece of software in C# that automatically pulled the latest IIS logs from a shared server, parsing the logs and analysing them in order to provide insights; statistics and diagnostics about the organizations web traffic. The two solo projects I worked on as part of this internship were an internal Git onboarding website I created and also collection of macros I wrote to generate performance testing spreadsheets depending on which environments were live for testing.
