Software Engineer

Kotak Securities Ltd.•  March 2017 - July 2018

Built, tested, and deployed efficient and scalable modules for Kotak Securities stock trading website which has a customer base of 1.4 million users and around 500,000 trades per day. Front-End/Client Side: Dynamic trading website built using CGI technology which uses HTML and RSP pages and involved working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Ajax technology. Back-End/Server Side: Implemented scripts written in C/C++ and used Microsoft SQL Server for database connectivity. Spearheaded an automated application deployment and backup system with an integrated reporting dashboard to improve the speed and efficiency of the Go Live process, which helped reduced the deployment time by 80%. Built a customized JSON parser in C using the open source cJSON library. Worked closely with several managers to understand functional requirements and problem specifications and establish system architecture and design.

Interacted with clients to understand their business processes and requirements, recommended techniques to improve their operational efficiency by implementing the company's various services. Developed various business documents and reports related to client proposals, business processes, project milestones and project activity tracking. Configured a customer support & CRM software and authored various tutorials and help documents. Improved teamwork, productivity, and communication across the company by recommending project management & communication tools and training various teams on how to effectively use them. Undertook Quality Assurance and software testing for a few projects which resulted in greater compliance with client requirements and over 96% bugs being found before project go-live.
