Responsibilities included writing, QA, issue reporting, and issue fixing of Python programs designed to scrape websites. Writing programs involves dynamically scraping all desired data on websites, while excluding bad or unwanted data, and parsing scraped pages into readable JSON. Some website types scraped from include sex offender registries, county level courts, state wide courts, daily jail logs, and international insolvency registries. A single Python program can work for dozens of websites that use a 3rd party technology or for one unique website. Experience gained working with .NET websites, APIs, PDF parsing, Xpath, YAML, Git, workflow logic, problem solving, and code abstraction.
