Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) based on Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) Algorithm

Designed a novel intrusion detection framework leveraging the XGBoost algorithm, resulting in the identification of undetected network anomalies and bolstering threat response capabilities within the cybersecurity team. Achieved outstanding detection accuracy of 99.27%, 98.98% and 99.73% in the NF-UQ-NIDS, NF-UNSW-NB15, and NF-UNSW-NB15-v2 datasets, respectively. With precision up to 99.34% and ROC-AUC scores up to 0.9997, surpassing existing state-of-the-art models.
