Contest rules and details

  • The contest is open to everyone for participation.
  • To be eligible for prizes you must be authorized to work in the US only.
  • We will be hosting the online contest from December 11th, 5:00 PM CST to December 12th, 5:00 PM CST.
  • You will be asked to solve 5 challenges, each with its own point value.
  • You're welcome to use any documents written before the contest started, including web pages. However, discussing strategy with other contestants, or anyone else, during the contest is not allowed. Likewise you aren't permitted to write about the problems in a round until after the round is over.
  • Any case of code plagiarism will result in disqualification of both the users from the contest.
  • You can code directly on our interface. We support all major languages. You can have a look at our environment page (https://www.hackerrank.com/environment) for more info. You can practice on HackerRank to get familiar with the coding editor.
  • HackerRank admin's decision will be final.
  • All participants should participate individually.

Scoring Rules

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • Each submission for each problem will be scored, based on number of test cases it passes.
  • The total score of any participant is the sum of their maximum scores of each of the attempted problems.
  • Participants are ranked according to their scores. Cumulative time taken to solve the challenge is used as a tie-breaker.
