  1. Join us for an exciting cybersecurity challenge like no other! The PBS Cybersecurity Club is thrilled to present the "Hack This Challenge," an opportunity for members to put their skills to the test and prove their prowess in the world of cybersecurity.
  2. The "Hack This Challenge" is designed to provide members with hands-on experience in real-world cybersecurity scenarios. Participants will face a series of progressively challenging tasks, ranging from basic to advanced, all carefully crafted to enhance their cybersecurity skills and knowledge.

Prizes

  • Prizes are optional. You may add any prizes that you would like to offer here.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  1. Eligibility: The "Hack This Challenge" is open to all active members of the PBS Cybersecurity Club. Participants must be in good standing with the club.

  2. Fair Play: All participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity throughout the challenge. Any form of cheating, including sharing answers or engaging in unethical hacking practices, will result in immediate disqualification.

  3. Challenge Platform: Participants must use the designated challenge platform provided by the PBS Cybersecurity Club to access and complete the challenges. Any attempts to circumvent or exploit the platform will result in disqualification.

  4. Team Collaboration: Participants are encouraged to collaborate and work together as a team to solve challenges. However, teams should consist only of registered club members, and all members must actively contribute.

  5. Submission Deadlines: Each challenge will have a specified deadline for submission. Participants must adhere to these deadlines. Late submissions will not be accepted.

  6. Respect for Others: All interactions and communications within the challenge, including on discussion forums or chat platforms, must be respectful and professional. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  7. Privacy and Data Protection: Participants are required to respect the privacy and data protection laws and guidelines when attempting challenges. Any unauthorized access to personal or sensitive information will result in disqualification.

  8. Resources: Participants are allowed to use publicly available resources and tools to solve challenges. However, using solutions or answers from external sources or individuals is strictly prohibited.

  9. Scoring and Prizes: Scoring will be based on the successful completion of challenges. The PBS Cybersecurity Club will announce the scoring criteria and prizes at the beginning of the challenge.

  10. Judging and Disputes: Decisions made by the challenge organizers and judges are final. In the event of a dispute or concern, participants may contact the club leadership for resolution.

  11. Code of Conduct: Participants must adhere to the PBS Cybersecurity Club's code of conduct and any additional rules or guidelines provided by the club.

  12. Feedback and Learning: The challenge is not just a competition but also a learning opportunity. Participants are encouraged to provide feedback on the challenges to help improve future events.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
