In addition to preparing well before your challenge, it is recommended that you go through the following checklist for a smooth experience.

• Ensure you have an uninterrupted internet and power supply to avoid problems during the challenge.
• Use a web camera-enabled computer to take a proctored challenge. If your challenge is proctored, you will be notified in your invitation email. For more information, check Taking Proctored Challenges.
• Ensure that you do not take part in any malpractices, as this can get captured in your report and may lead to disqualification from subsequent rounds.

Yes, you will receive an email to confirm your participation if you successfully meet the eligibility criteria determined by Akamai.

Irrespective of whether you receive an email confirmation, your attempt will get submitted as soon as you hit the submit button or when the timer stops. If you still need any further information, we request you to reach out to your recruiter.

Regulations / Conditions of Participation in the Event

I. DEFINITIONS:

1. These regulations (further referred to as the Regulations) define the terms and

conditions of participation, including registration process, in the AKAthon Competition, organized on 23 November, 2024 (the Event) which will be carried out online using a dedicated HackerRank platform provided by HackerRank.

(the Platform).

2. The Organizer of the Event is Akamai Technologies Poland Sp. z o.o. with its

registered seat in Kraków, ul. Opolska 100, 31-323 Kraków, registered in the register of

entrepreneurs of the National Court Register kept by the District Court in Kraków, XI

Economic Division of the National Court Register, under the number 0000384002, with

the NIP (Tax Identification Number) 1132832376, and REGON (National Business

Registry Number): 0000384002, hereinafter referred to as the Organizer.

3. A participant of the Event is a natural or legal person who has registered for the Event

and, after being selected by the Organizer, has received the confirmation of participation

in the Event (the Participant).

4. The Regulations and the agenda of the Event are available on the Event website at

HackerRank (the Event website).

5. The Agreement shall be understood as an agreement between the Participant and the

Organizer, in which the Organizer commits itself to organize the Event, provide the

Participant access to the Platform, and carry the Event out online on the HackerRank Platform, and the

Participant commits themselves to participate in the Event and to follow the Regulations.

II. REGISTRATION AND CONCLUSION OF THE AGREEMENT

1. The registration of persons interested in participating in the Event shall be carried out

in the following way:

a) The person interested in participating in the Event must send the Organizer, by November

21th, 2024 at the latest, a properly completed registration form available at the Event

website (hereinafter: Registration Form).

b) The Registration Form shall request the following details: name, surname, e-mail

address, year of experience, resident country. Applicants undertake to provide truthful and accurate data.

c) Applicants are also required to familiarize themselves with these Regulations, and

shall be deemed to accept the terms of these Regulations upon submission of the

Registration.

d) The Organizer has the sole discretion to determine whether or not an application for

registration is successful. After proper consideration of all the Registration Forms, the

Organizers will respond to each candidate by email or HackerRank message to confirm either their successful registration for the Event, or that their application has been unsuccessful.

III. ORGANIZATION OF THE EVENT

1. HackerRank shall send the Participants detailed organizational information to the

email address provided in the Registration Form.

2. Participation in the Event is free of charge.

3. To participate in the Event, on the day and time when the Event takes place, the

Participant should access the Platform by clicking on the hyperlink received from the

Organizer which will redirect the Participant to the Platform and allow them to participate

in the event.

4. The Participant is obliged to comply with the Regulations and all other ordinances of

the Organizer.

5. Without the written consent of the Organizer, it is prohibited to film and record the

course of the Event, lectures, images of other Participants and any other events that take

place during the Event.

6. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude the Participant from the Event (incl.

temporary or permanent blocking) if Participant’s actions violate those Regulations,

tarnish Organizer’s reputation, or cause or may cause any damage to the Organizer.

7. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event or change the date and the format

of the Event for reasons beyond the Organizer's control and make any changes in the

agenda published at the Event website. The Participants shall not have any claims against

the Organizer in the above respect.

8. All changes in the event organization and Terms of Service will be announced by the Organizer of the Event.

9. The competition will be held remotely in 3 countries Poland, Spain and Czech Republic.

10. Participants need to reside in one of three countries listed in point 9.

11. Awards will be granted to participants with top 3 results from every country listed in point 9.

IV. PERSONAL DATA

1. The Organizer informs that personal data indicated by the Participants will be stored in

a manner that protects it from being disclosed and processed – in accordance with the

provisions of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU)

2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons in relation to processing

of personal data and on the free movement of such data; and repealing the Directive

95/46/EC (hereinafter GDPR).

2. The Organizer and HackerRank processes the personal data of Participants as provided in the

Registration Form:

a) to conclude an Agreement with the Participant, organize the Event and manage

participation of the Participant in the Event - based in this Agreement - pursuant to art. 6

sec. 1 letter b of GDPR;

b) to make the Participant receive information about events organized by the Organizer -

based on the Participant's consent - pursuant to art. 6 sec. 1 letter a of GDPR;

c) to deliver the Event and collect the feedback - based on the Organizer's legitimate

interest - pursuant to art. 6 sec. 1 letter f of GDPR;

d) to inform about job openings at Akamai Technologies

e) for other purposes, provided that the Participant gives a separate and explicit consent

for it or processing is necessary for compliance with legal obligation, as described in the

Privacy Policy of the Organizer.

3. The Organizer and HackerRank are the administrator of the personal data of the Participants. The

personal data administrator is available at: ta-poland@akamai.com.

4. At all times, the Participant shall have the right to access their personal data, including

the right to amend it, delete it, limit the scope of processing, transfer it, and the right to

raise objections in cases specified in the provisions of GDPR.

5. The personal data of the Participants shall be kept by the Organizer from the moment

of its submission by the Participants in the Registration Form until the Event is finished

and the Event evaluation form is sent to the Participants or as long as the provisions of

law currently in force allows.

6. In the event that the processing of personal data takes place on the basis of the

Participant's consent, the Participant has the right to withdraw the consent at any time

without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that has been made on the basis of the

consent prior to its withdrawal. In the event of withdrawal of the Participant's consent,

personal data of the Participant will be kept for a period of up to 14 days from the date

when the Organizer has received the information on the withdrawal of the consent.

7. The Administrator shall collect the following personal data from the Participants: name

and surname, e-mail address, information about the educational background (university,

year of studies, specialization etc.).

8. Personal data of the Participant will not be subject to disclosure to third parties, with

the exception of entities acting on behalf of the Organizer or HackerRank in the scope of providing

services related to the organization and operation of the Event (such as event

management software and streaming platform) for the purpose of organizing, supporting

and delivering the Event. The personal data will be processed by Google. for the purpose

of Participant’s registration and by WebEx for Cisco for the purpose of event streaming.

9. The Participant has the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Personal Data

Protection Office on breaches of GDPR.

10. The Organizer will apply all the technical and organizational measures defined by law

to protect personal data of the Participants, in particular those preventing the

unauthorized access and modification of the data provided during the registration.

11. The personal data will not be subject to automated decision-making processes and

will not be used for profiling.

12. The personal data may be transferred to third countries in accordance with applicable laws.

V. ACCEPTABLE USE

1. The Participant when accessing the Platform and its related subdomains is prohibited

from:

a) violating any law, statute, ordinance or regulation,

b) using the Platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any relevant and applicable

laws,

c) promoting or providing information about illegal activities, promoting physical harm

or injury against any group or individual,

d) uploading or transmitting through the Platform any computer viruses, macro viruses,

Trojan horses, worms or anything other taking any other harmful activity,

e) overriding any security feature of the Platform or jeopardize the security of the

Platform in any way,

f) interfering with the operation of, or place an unreasonable load on the Platform,

g) using manual or automated software, devices or other means or processes to access,

scrape or crawl the Platform or any content or information contain in it or presented

during the Event,

h) modifying, creating derivative works or copyrighting or storing any portion of the

content presented during the Event,

i) using filming equipment or other devices to record the Event,

j) sharing any material which is unlawful, libellous, abusive, obscene, phornographic,

discriminatory, harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious,

defamatory, vulgar invasive of another’s privacy, hateful or otherwise objectionable,

defamatory, offensive, or of any obscene or menacing character, or that may cause

annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety,

k) attempting to grant any unauthorized access to the Platform and the Event,

l) harvesting, gathering or sharing private information from the Event, the Platform or

other Participants without consent,

m) partaking in hostile activities aimed at damage to the Event or its Participants.

2. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude the Participant from the Event if

Participant’s actions violate the above Acceptable Use.

VI. FINAL PROVISIONS

1. In an event of the dispute, the Organizer and the Participant shall resolve it amicably.

In the case where the amicable resolution of a dispute is not possible, the court of local

jurisdiction over the Organizer's registered seat shall be relevant for proceedings.

2. Unless stated otherwise, the contact between the Organizer and the Participant that has

submitted the Registration Form shall be made electronically – on Participant’s side with

the use of the email address provided by the Participant in the Registration Form, and on

Organizer’s side – with the use of the email address ta-poland@akamai.com.

3. The Regulations come into force on October 11, 2024.

4. The Organizer reserves the right to change the Regulations. Each change shall be

communicated to the Participant by information published on the Event website 14 days

before the change comes into force. If the Participant does not accept the changes in the

Regulations, they shall inform the Organizer accordingly. The lack of acceptance of the

Regulation shall be interpreted as the termination of the Agreement, as referred to in art.

384-1 of the Civil Code, effective as of the date of expiry of the time limit for objecting

to changes in the Regulations. Until the expiry of this period, the provisions of the

Regulations shall prevail.
