Performed root cause analysis from system crash dumps, process core dumps, process execution traces, network packet traces, and other forms of data, to identify defects in Sun hardware or software. Identified defects in third party software, without the benefit of access to source code. Diagnosed performance bottlenecks from statistical system data. Reproduced problems on lab systems when further study was warranted. Recommended HW maintenance and SW updates based on analysis results. Produced and tested interim software solutions and their delivery mechanisms. Collaborated with sustaining engineers for complex problem investigation and permanent resolutions.
