About

"I think it's very important to get more women into computing. My slogan is: Computing is too important to be left to men." - Karen Spärck Jones

The field of computing started with 1:1 gender ratio, with Babbage and Lovelace, Clark and Turing, and so on. The present day scenario in the field is unfortunately, a stark contrast to it.

While women in tech like Grace Hopper (One of the first programmers of the Harvard Mark I computer, invented one of the first linkers, invented the A-0 system, the name behind Google Grace Hopper Scholarship of women), Karen Spärck Jones (responsible for the concept of inverse document frequency, a technology that underlies most modern search engines), Katie Bouman and many other continue to inspire generations, IIIT Vadodara, in association with WTM, would like to do its part in helping level the playing field.
