On behalf of everyone at HackerRank, I wanted to personally reach out to address the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. Our hearts go out to those affected, to those whose jobs and schools have been impacted, and to the health workers who are working tirelessly on the front line. Like you, we are deeply concerned with protecting our loved ones and our livelihoods, and are doing everything in our power to stay informed and slow the spread of the virus. Our leadership team is meeting regularly to assess the crisis as it evolves and to take action as needed.
We would like you to know that we remain fully committed to ensuring continuity of service for our customers and our community at large. All of our global employees are working remotely, and will continue to support you. They remain fully contactable via email and mobile, with our working hours remaining as usual. I'd like to share a few things that are top of mind for me and for our customers: HackerRank Employees, Business Continuity and helping you with Remote Hiring.
Health and safety of HackerRank employees
All of our employees are working remotely. In the US, employees began working from home on March 13, 2020. Our global offices followed soon after. HackerRank has implemented specific movement controls that fully comply with government guidelines. We have a regular cadence of communication with our global team to keep them updated on the situation as things progress and more information becomes available.
Our commitments as a virtual office:
- Social distancing: We are taking full advantage of video technologies, using Zoom and Google Hangouts to conduct business.
- Clear communication: Multiple internal syncs each day. As a business with a focus on teamwork, our teams are communicating daily and working together to ensure efficiency.
- Accountability: My team and I are accountable to you and will continue to deliver the quality of work and communication that you have come to expect from us. If anything, I can assure you all that they are working even harder than ever to ensure that we do everything within our power to be of help during this difficult time.
Infrastructure resilience and reliability
HackerRank’s application and services employ a resilient, cloud-based architecture that delivers multiple levels of protection to ensure comprehensive protection of data and files, high availability, and exceptional flexibility. HackerRank is committed to maintaining the levels of security and control to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our customer's data at all times.
In accordance with the Pandemic Action Plan of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), ISO 27001 requirements, HackerRank has established processes in order to coordinate efforts during epidemics like Coronavirus COVID-19. These efforts include data security, the continuity of service, customer support resilience, and the operation of our application and cloud infrastructure.
Workforce resilience and business continuity
HackerRank commits to processing and answering all customers’, partners’ and prospects’ inquiries in accordance with commitments made as part of its ISO 27001-certified ISMS.
We will be able to meet the changing, dynamic growth of the market. As part of HackerRank’s continuity of service plan, all employees are accustomed to the processes of the Pandemic Action Plan through regular exercises and simulations. We keep a close watch, 24/7, on our applications, services, and infrastructure in order to detect any problems that could be potential risks and we are working in close cooperation with strategic partners to evaluate and minimize any potential effects on the equipment supply and the secured access to data centers.
We have established an incident management process in case of such events. Clear requirements about suppliers’ business continuity have also been established.
