Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

  • Eligibility: Open to all Amazon employees under the leadership of Russ (@russ).
  • Team Formation: Contestants can form teams of 2 members each.
  • Problems: Participants will have access to all problems at the start of the contest and should aim to solve as many as possible within the allocated 2-hour timeframe.
  • Submissions: Solutions will be submitted as source files and will be automatically evaluated against predefined test cases.
  • Language: Participants can choose from a wide range of programming languages.
  • Internet Usage: Participants are allowed to use the internet and perform searches during the contest.
  • Platform: The contest will be hosted on the HackerRank platform.

What if I'm not under Russ's leadership? Can I still participate?

  • Absolutely! While prizes are exclusively for those under Russ (@russ), everyone is welcome to participate and enjoy the contest.

How will the contest be conducted?

  • The contest will be held online via the HackerRank platform. You'll have a set duration to solve a series of coding challenges.

Can I form a team with someone who is not under Russ?

  • Yes, you can, but you then your team wont be eligible for prizes.

I am under Russ, can I form a team alone?

  • Yes, you can, but you then you wont be eligible for prizes.

Can i check past year contest?

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • Most questions have binary marking, it means you need to pass all test cases to score.
  • 1 question supports partial marking, and participant will get a score depending on how many test cases they pass.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
