Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.

Participant

Lower secondary students will be participating in this event.


Rules and Regulations

  1. Each MRSM has to bring along their own laptop and extension wire.
  2. Participants must bring their own device for internet access.

MRSM Code Wars

  1. The questions will be given on the day of the competition through provided URL.
  2. Questions are based on Python/C/C# programming (direct and HOTS) as covered in ASK KSSM Syllabus.
  3. The problems are in an open book exam format. Participants can bring their notes/ reference books in order to accomplish the task provided.
  4. The problems may involve input/output function, error detection, loop etc. as covered in the syllabus.
  5. The problems are to be solved within 2 hours.
  6. The projects are assessed on the number, accuracy, functionality of task completed and agility.
  7. Participants can use the Internet during this section (school’s Wi-Fi or the participants own device).
  8. Each participant must answer the questions via their own PC/laptop.
  9. Participants are not allowed to share PC/laptop.
  10. Although the internet is accessible, students are not allowed to use any device that allows them to communicate with other participants or outsiders.

Scoring

  • Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
  • A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
  • If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. In a game challenge, the participant's score will reflect the last code submission.
  • Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting in a higher score
