Welcome to the first annual D.E.T. Coding Tournament! You will have 2 hours to solve a pool of 20 problems ranging from easy to hard in difficulty. Each problem will vary in points, depending on their level. The challenge list is sorted from least to most challenging, which corresponds to the respective amount of points. There will be a leaderboard where you can view where each particpant is ranked. If you have any questions feel free to ask the judges. Good luck and have fun! 

Prizes

Prizes will be seperated into two divisions. The first division will include students from 6th to 8th grade. The second division will include students from 9th to 12th grade. First to third place will recieve giftcards and awards.

Rules

  • The creator of this contest is solely responsible for setting and communicating the eligibility requirements associated with prizes awarded to participants, as well as for procurement and distribution of all prizes. The contest creator holds HackerRank harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, costs, awards, settlements, orders, or fines.
  • Code directly from our platform, which supports over 30 languages. Learn more here.
• Do not discuss strategy, suggestions or tips with other people during a live contest. 
• Do not dicuss problems or any aspect of a problem on any platform. 
• Participants are ranked according to the most points obtained. Ties will be broken by the total time for each user in ascending order of time.
• The total time is the sum of the time consumed for each problem solved. 
• Using online tools such as Google is **NOT** okay except for syntax. Please do not post your question for external sources such as Discord, Stack Overflow, etc to help.
• Only students who are grade 12 and below at the time of the contest may be elligble to particpate in the contest. 
• The judge's rulings are final.

Scoring

• Each challenge has a pre-determined score.
• A participant’s score depends on the number of test cases a participant’s code submission successfully passes.
• If a participant submits more than one solution per challenge, then the participant’s score will reflect the highest score achieved. 
• Participants are ranked by score. If two or more participants achieve the same score, then the tie is broken by the total time taken to submit the last solution resulting 
in a higher score
